Yesterday, February 25th, in the year 1992, the heavy metal band Pantera released its sophomore album, Vulgar Display of Power. With the quest of making an album heavier than their first album, Cowboys from Hell, Vulgar Display of Power have played a major role in defining post-thrash metal with slower tempos and harder-edged vocals. Vulgar Display of Power peaked at #44 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The album achieved Double Platinum status in 2004. In 2001, Q Magazine named it one of the “50 Heaviest Albums of All-Time.” It also has been listed as one of the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before Youe Die.
